Terms of use

Effective 30 September 2026. By playing Same Latitude or subscribing to Pro you agree to these terms.

The game

Same Latitude is free to play, with ads. We may change, add or remove puzzles, features and modes at any time. City data comes from GeoNames and may contain errors; puzzle results stand as the game computes them.

Pro subscriptions

Same Latitude Pro costs US$2.99 per month or US$29.99 per year, plus any tax your location requires, and includes the features listed on the Pro page. Payment is handled by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. We’ll give notice before any price change applies to an existing subscription.

Cancelling

Cancel any time from the Pro page (“Manage subscription”). You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again.

Refunds

Payments are generally non-refundable, and partial periods aren’t refunded on cancellation. If something went wrong (you were charged twice, or Pro never activated), email tyyobs@riffroster.app within 30 days and we’ll make it right. This doesn’t affect any rights you have under your local consumer law.

Your Pro key

Pro is tied to a key stored in your browser, not an account. Anyone holding your key can use your subscription, so don’t share it. If you lose access to every device with your key, email us from the address you subscribed with and we’ll help restore it.

The leaderboard

Pro leaderboard scores are verified from your guesses. Display names must not be offensive or impersonate anyone; we may rename or remove entries, and may end the Pro subscription (with a pro-rated refund) of anyone abusing the leaderboard.

Who sells Pro

Payments for Pro may be processed by Stripe acting as the seller of record, in which case Stripe collects and remits any sales tax or VAT and your receipt will say so. Your card statement may show Stripe’s name alongside ours.

Fair play

Please play the game as intended. Don’t use scripts, bots or automated tools to submit guesses, scrape the site, overload it, or get around Pro limits or the leaderboard; don’t try to access accounts, keys or data that aren’t yours; and don’t reverse-engineer the puzzle order to gain an advantage on the leaderboard. We may remove scores, names or access for anyone who does.

Content and credits

The Same Latitude name, design, code and written content belong to us; you may share results and screenshots freely. City data comes from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0), map outlines from Natural Earth (public domain), and city photos and summaries from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons under their own licences (credited on each result). Those remain their owners’ work.

No guarantees

The game and Pro are provided “as is”. We work to keep them available and accurate, but can’t promise the site will always be online or error-free, or that every puzzle, location or fact is correct. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to Pro is limited to what you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can’t be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on the site before it applies, and if you’re a Pro member and don’t agree you can cancel at any time. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
